We Rule!

Today in math we created our own rulers.  I gave the students 1 inch pieces of blue and gold paper.  We decided the best way to organize them (that they should be side by side and not head to toe) and then glued them on to our ruler strips.  We found out that it was important to measure from the 0, or the beginning of the first inch.  We also learned how important it was for the inches to be right next to each other.  Then the students tested out their rulers by measuring things in the room.
